(This review has also been posted on Hostomato's front page)

IntoVPS launched in 2009, offering virtual private servers located in Atlanta (United States) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Compared to other companies in the VPS business, they are incredibly cheap. Their plans start for 10 USD per month, where you get 512MB RAM, 20GB storage and 500GB bandwidth.
Before ordering anything online, I search for reviews. Since IntoVPS is a relatively new hosting provider, I wasn't able to find that much information about them. I found a few posts at WebHostingTalk.com, however, and from what I read there, IntoVPS were taking their customers seriously. For just $10 a month, and being able to pay for a month at a time, there wasn't much to lose.

    Ordering

You can choose from a variety of Linux distributions, including CentOS, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo and SUSE. Each distribution are available with different setups and configurations, like 32/64 bit, standard or minimal, with preinstalled control panels etc. You will get 1 IP adress included with the VPS, but you can order more at $1 per IP, if you need that.

    After ordering

You'll get an e-mail with login information to HyPanel and SSH info for your new VPS, seconds after the order has been placed. HyPanel is their own in-house control panel used to manage your servers. From here you can see storage and bandwidth usage, as you would expect to find in most control panels, but you also get advanced statistics. There are graphs for memory, disk read/write and CPU usage. You can choose to see the last hour, 10 hours ago, last week, or any other time. This makes it easy to, at any time, have full control over the life of your VPS. With each plan, you get some guarenteed memory, but if you need more, you can use double that amount, so called burst memory. This is great if your website gets submitted to sites like Digg or Reddit, and you eventually get an enormous visitor boost.

When the VPS is available, you can log on to it with SSH, like any other VPS or dedicated server. No matter what operating system and setup you chose at sign up, there'll be some work to be done. With a minimal Debian setup, the one I chose, you have to install everything from "sudo" to your desired web server.

If you are new to Linux, and controlling a machine from the command prompt, it will probably take a while before your VPS is ready to serve your websites. Luckily, there are guides and howtos for nearly anything available on the Internet. Just do a Google search for something like "Apache, PHP and MySQL CentOS howto", and you're ready to roll.

    Support

I was impressed by the support staff at IntoVPS. All my tickets so far have been answered and resolved in under ten minutes, which is far better than many other hosting companies I have been with. Their ticket system is web based, but they also have a real time chat, available from their website, where you can ask questions before ordering. They recently set up an IRC channel at Freenode, where users and staff can talk or help each other.

The title of this review pretty much says it all. If you're having a low budget, but still want your own VPS, there is no doubt. IntoVPS is what you've been waiting for.
