Hostomato

A bunch of new features!

It has been a while since last post now, but instead of posting all minor updates here, I've used @hostomato. Here is, however, a more in-depth status update.

First of all, I want to start off by showing you the latest, and most exciting change, at least visually. We've got a new logo! Something like this: hó. You see the tomato? Of course you do.

A new logo is nice, but most of the work is done behind the scenes. Automatic currency convertion is now working for over 100 different currencies. The prices in your local currency can be seen on all listing pages (Shared, VPS, Dedicated and Cloud hosting), and when clicking on any hosting plan. Also, all plan pages now have two boxes, "First impression" and "Toolbox". "First Impression" gives you all the basic information, like storage space, bandwidth and so on, while the toolbox gives you more detailed information. Here you'll find what scripting languages you can use, whether you get phone support, as well as other more technical information.

Today, another box was added below these. The "Reviews" box. It will show any reviews submitted by our users, and if there aren't any reviews for the hosting plan you are viewing, there will be a link back to the host's Hostomato page.

Last but not least, we have also enabled editing of hosting plans. You can now click one of the Edit buttons on a plan page, or "Submit corrections" to report the faulty information you may find. The changes aren't published immediately, because we, to prevent abuse, go through every single report before the changes go on air.

I guess that's all for now. There will be more features added in the next few days (and weeks), and among them, a comment form for blog posts like this.

Thank you.

- Olav.
